Système U Voice Success Story
"We dispatch around 850,000 parcels daily from our ten warehouses in the west of France. Therefore it is key that our teams work efficiently and quickly. Using Aldata Voice Directed Warehousing with Nuance voice recognition on Motorola’s WT4090 mobile computer for real time voice picking and inventory management has allowed us to improve recognition rates and facilitate a quick shift handover.
Moreover we estimate that implementing voice technology within our warehouses has increased our productivity by between 5% and 6% for dry goods and by between 10% and 12% in the preparation of fresh food dispatches;previously the quantities, weights and tracking of the individual items needed to be manually recorded. Aldata Voice Directed Warehousing on the WT4090 also saves us significant time at the beginning of shifts as, unlike other voice recognition systems, the technology requires no user identification or pre-registry of vocabulary. This also enables a quicker staff induction phase for our temporary and seasonal staff employed at our warehouses.
Implementing voice technology on a multiple capability PDA provides the perfect flexible solution as well as bottom line cost savings for our warehouses.” Michel Le Grouyère, Système U Ouest, Logistics Director – Head of Methods and Practices.
